FAMOUS OATMEAL COOKIES 
3/4 c. butter Crisco
1 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1/4 c. water
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. oats, uncooked
1 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cinnamon (optional)
1 bag mini chocolate chips

Beat together Crisco, brown sugar, sugar, egg, water and vanilla. Add combined remaining ingredients; mix well. Add chocolate chips. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Yield: 5 dozen cookies, approximately.
