COOKIE CAKE 
2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
2 tsp. salt
1 c. water
1 stick butter
1/2 c. salad oil
3 tsp. cocoa
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. buttermilk
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Put first 3 items in a large mixing bowl. Put next 4 items in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Pour over the flour mixture. Beat well. Add 2 eggs, one at a time, beat after each and mix soda, buttermilk and vanilla. Mix well and pour in a floured and buttered sheet pan. Bake 30 minutes. (Batter will be soupy.)

FROSTING FOR COOKIE CAKE:

1 stick butter
6 tsp. milk
3 tsp. cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla
1 box confectioners' sugar
1/2 c. nuts

Bring to a boil and pour over 1 box of confectioners' sugar. Beat well. If too thick to spread add a few drops of milk. Scatter nuts on top.
