4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
2 c. sugar
1 c. butter
1 tsp. vanilla or lemon
1/2 tsp. salt (if you want I don't)
3 eggs

Cream butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Put soda in small amount of flour and add. Mix well, then add the rest of the flour. You can add more flour if needed to make a good dough. Wrap in foil and store in refrigerator overnight. Make in two long rolls and cut to the size cookie you want, thick or thin. You can use this for cut out cookies also. Bake in 350 degree oven until golden brown.
