OLD FASHION VEGETABLE SOUP 
1 lb. ground beef
1 c. chopped onion
1 c. diced raw potatoes
1 c. sliced carrots
1 c. sliced celery
2 (16 oz.) cans whole tomatoes, cut coarsely
5 c. water
1 tbsp. salt
1/4 tsp. basil, crushed
1/4 tsp. thyme, crushed
1 bay leaf
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 tbsp. instant beef bouillon or can use the cubes
1 (16 oz.) whole kernel corn (undrained)
1 (16 oz.) can cut green beans (undrained)
1 (16 oz.) can green peas (undrained)

Brown beef and onion until meat is done. Drain off fat. Add remaining ingredients except corn, beans and peas. Simmer 30 minutes or until raw vegetables are tender. Add canned vegetables; continue heating 5 minutes.
