STROMBOLI | |
1 loaf frozen bread dough 1/2 lb. shredded Mozzarella cheese 1/4 lb. thinly sliced slicing pepperoni Let dough thaw and rise according to package directions. After dough has risen, cut in half. Using a rolling pin, roll one half of the dough to form a rectangle approximately 12x5 inch. (Roll onto a floured surface.) Sprinkle shredded Mozzarella on top of dough, then place slices of pepperoni on top of cheese. Fold one end of the long side of the dough into the middle. Then fold other long side of dough into the middle overlapping first side a little bit. Fold short ends closed and seal all edges firmly by using wet fingertips. Place rolled dough, seam side down onto jelly roll pan; brush surface with beaten egg. Repeat for 2nd half of the dough. Bake at 425 degrees for 15-20 minutes. Cut into 3/4 inch slices and serve. Yields 2 stromboli. NOTE: You can use any of your favorite cheese or meat combinations. Great for parties. You can freeze cooked stromboli for later use. Just reheat in oven. |
