STUFFED CUBED STEAKS | |
4-6 cubed steaks 1 box seasoned pan-style stuffing mix or your own stuffing 2 env. powdered brown gravy mix 1 (8 oz.) can mushrooms (stems & pieces), drained 1 tbsp. dried minced onion Salt & pepper to taste Make stuffing according to box directions. Cool slightly. Make gravy according to packet instructions. Add mushrooms and dried onion when gravy is thickened. Add salt and pepper. Lay out raw steaks and pound with mallet to flatten somewhat and tenderize. Place 2-3 tablespoons stuffing on one end of each steak and roll up. Fasten with toothpicks. Brown rolls in oil or Crisco on all sides in skillet; drain oil. Add gravy, mushroom, onion mixture to rolls. Simmer on low, covered, for 1 hour. Stir and turn on and off. Serve with noodles, mashed potatoes or rice. These are very tender and flavorful! |
