CINNAMON ROLLS | |
3 c. self rising flour 1 c. milk 1/2 c. sugar 1 tbsp. cinnamon 4 1/2 tbsp. shortening 1/2 c. butter, softened 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed 3/4 c. raisins & pecans (opt.) Cut shortening into flour until it resembles coarse crumbs. Add milk, blend with fork until dough leaves sides of bowl. Turn onto floured surface and knead 4 to 6 times. Roll into 14"x20" rectangle. Spread butter over dough leaving a narrow margin on all sides. Combine sugar, brown sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over butter. Add nuts and raisins. Begin at long end and roll in jelly roll fashion. Pinch the ends and edges to seal. Cut into 1" slice, place in greased pan, cut side down and bake at 375 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes. Remove and glaze with 1 1/4 cups powdered sugar and 3 tablespoons milk. |
