1 1/2 c. warm water 1 pkg. active dry yeast 2/3 c. sugar 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. warm mashed potatoes 2/3 c. melted shortening 2 eggs, beaten 7 to 7 1/2 c. flour Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm water. Mix sugar, salt, shortening and potatoes. Add beaten eggs, remaining water and yeast. Add flour gradually, beating well. Knead lightly. Use just enough flour so you can handle dough. Let set in greased bowl until double in size (about 2 hours). Divide in half. Roll into oblong pieces 1/4 inch thick. Spread butter over surface. Sprinkle with cinnamon and brown sugar. Roll like a jelly roll and cut 1 inch thick. |
