SOFT PRETZELS 
1 1/2 c. warm water (see yeast package)
1 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. sugar
3 to 4 c. flour
1 pkg. dry yeast
1 beaten egg
Salt

Dissolve yeast in warm water while stirring in salt and sugar. Add 1 to 2 cups flour and stir. Add another cup flour and blend in. Add more flour while kneading until dough is just beyond sticky. Form into pretzels and put on greased cookie sheet. Brush with beaten egg; sprinkle with salt. Bake at 450 degrees for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
