COFFEE KUCHEN 
3 c. sifted flour
3 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. light brown sugar, packed firmly
1 c. granulated sugar
2 1/2 tbsp. instant coffee
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. milk
1/8 tsp. baking soda
2 eggs, slightly beaten

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease and flour a 9 inch tube pan. Sift flour, sugars, salt, baking powder, cinnamon and coffee into a large bowl. Cut butter and shortening into the flour mixture with a pastry blender or 2 knives until the mix resembles small peas. Set aside one cup of the mixture. Combine milk, baking soda, and eggs and mix well. Stir all at once into the flour mixture until well combined. Turn into the tube pan and sprinkle with the remaining mix. Bake 50 to 50 minutes or until a cake tester inserted into the center comes out clean. Let cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Serve warm.
