SUPER PINEAPPLE SPLIT 
12 oz. pkg. vanilla wafers
1 c. softened butter
20 oz. can crushed pineapple
8 oz. pkg. cream cheese
2 c. sifted powdered sugar
1/2 c. semi-sweet real chocolate pieces
1 1/2 c. undiluted evaporated milk
2 lg. or 3 sm. bananas
2 tbsp. orange or lemon juice
1 pt. frozen non-dairy whipped topping, thawed
1/2 c. coarsely chopped pecans
3 oz. jar maraschino cherries, drained

Crush vanilla wafers and mix well with 1/2 cup softened butter. Press over bottom of a 9 x 13 inch baking pan. Drain pineapple well. Combine 1/4 cup butter with cream cheese and blend well. Mix in 2/3 of the pineapple (about 1 cup). Spread over the wafer crust. Combine remaining 1/4 cup butter, powdered sugar, chocolate pieces and evaporated milk i sauce pan. Cook, stirring constantly until thick and smooth. Cool. Slice bananas 1/2 inch thick, drizzle with orange or lemon juice and drain well. Arrange over pineapple cream cheese layer. Top with cooled chocolate sauce. Spread whipped topping over all. Sprinkle with remaining pineapple, pecans and cherries. Chill thoroughly before serving. makes 12 or more servings.
