CRANBERRY CIDER 
Soak wedges of pear in lemon juice to retain color.

4 cups (1 quart) cranberry juice cocktail
4 cups apple cider or hard cider
1 cup diced canned pears, sieved
1 cup water
2 cinnamon sticks
1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter

Combine cranberry juice, apple cider, sieved pears, water, cinnamon sticks and nutmeg. Heat to the boiling point. Remove cinnamon sticks.

Serve in large mugs with a lump of butter in each serving.

Suggested garnish: wedges of apple.

Serves 8.
