SOUTHERN BAKED BEANS 
1 lb. ground beef chuck
2 (28 oz. ea.) cans baked beans (I use Bush's original)
1 green pepper, diced
1 onion, diced
1 1/2 cups hickory smoke barbecue sauce (Kraft)
6 bacon slices, cooked and crumbed (optional)
1/4 cup brown sugar

Drain one can of beans from its sauce. Empty both cans beans into 2-quart pot. Brown and crumble ground beef. Fry and crumble bacon, if using. Add all the rest of the ingredients to pot. Simmer 20 minutes, then pour into an aluminum pan.

Bake uncovered at 400°F for 25 to 30 minutes. Stir occasionally.

Variation: Cover for juicy beans. ENJOY!
