RED CABBAGE COLE SLAW 
1 lg. head of cabbage, shredded
1 lg. onion, sliced & separated into rings
1 scant c. of sugar

Alternate layers of cabbage and onions. Pour the sugar over, do not stir. Cover tightly and refrigerate overnight. 1 tsp. mustard seed 1 tsp. celery seed 1 c. vinegar 1/2 c. salad oil

Bring these ingredients to a boil and pour over salad and toss. Cover and refrigerate at least 8 hours before serving. Keeps well in refrigerator.
