1/2 c. butter 1/2 c. white sugar 1/2 c. brown sugar (packed) 1 egg 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1 c. flour 1/4 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. salt 1 c. quick-cooking oatmeal 1 c. Rice Krispies 1/2 c. shredded coconut 1/2 tsp. baking soda Heat oven to 375 degrees. Mix thoroughly shortening, white sugar, brown sugar, egg and vanilla. Stir in remaining ingredients. Drop by rounded teaspoons 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes. Immediately remove from baking sheet. Makes 3 dozen. |
