GRANDPA'S FAVORITE BEEF STEW | |
1 lb. very lean stew meat (sm. pieces) 5 or 6 potatoes (cut in lg. pieces) 1 lg. onion, chopped 3 carrots, sliced 3 stalks celery, sliced 1/2 c. butter 1/4 c. flour 1 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. black pepper 1 pkg. brown gravy mix Water to cover Melt butter in large pan. Roll meat in flour and add to butter. Cook until brown. Add vegetables to meat. Add salt and pepper, enough water to cover. Cook until all vegetables are tender, about 1/2 hour. Add brown gravy mix and simmer until thickened. |
