SCALLOPED CABBAGE 
1 med. head cabbage
4 tbsp. butter
4 tbsp. flour
2 c. milk
3/4 c. grated American cheese

Chop cabbage coarsely, boil 10 minutes in salted water and drain. Make white sauce with butter, flour and milk. Add grated cheese. Stir over very low heat until melted. Place cabbage in casserole, pour sauce over and sprinkle with bread crumbs. Bake at 300 to 325 degrees for 30 minutes. Delicious.
