GRAPE-NUTS CUSTARD 
1/4 c. Grape-Nuts cereal
2 c. milk
2 eggs
Dash of salt
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
Nutmeg

Heat the cereal with the milk until very hot but not boiling. Meanwhile, beat the eggs with salt, sugar and vanilla. Gradually stir in the hot milk mixture. Pour into buttered casserole and dust top generously with nutmeg. Set the casserole into a baking pan that contains an inch or two of hot water. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes. Store in refrigerator. 4-6 servings.

To test for doneness, stick a kinfe into custard about an inch from the center. If it comes out clean, the custard is done.
