APPLE CAKE 
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 c. Wesson oil
16 dates, chopped
2 apples, shredded
1/2 c. nuts (pecans)
Pinch of salt
1 1/2 c. flour
2 eggs

FROSTING INGREDIENTS:

1 c. sugar
1 c. Pet milk
1 stick butter
2 egg yolks

Mix together sugar, soda, cinnamon, oil, dates, apples, salt and nuts. Gradually blend in flour. Beat egg whites until fluffy (save yolks for frosting). Blend and bake.

FROSTING: Cook sugar, milk, butter, and egg yolks until thick. Spread over top of cake. Put pecans on top if desired.
