CANDIED YAM BALLS IN PECANS 
1 lg. can yams or sweet potatoes
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. finely chopped pecans (other nuts may be substituted)
1/2 stick butter
1/4 c. dark corn syrup

Drain yams. Mash and mix in nutmeg. Shape mixture into small balls. Roll each ball in beaten egg, then in chopped nuts. Arrange balls in greased baking dish. Make a syrup by melting butter and stirring in corn syrup and brown sugar until sugar dissolves. Pour syrup over yam patties. Bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees.
