GERMAN FROSTED CHOCOLATE CAKE 
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tbsp. cocoa
2 tsp. baking soda
2 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, melted
2 cups buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs beaten
1/2 tsp. salt

Mix flour. cocoa, salt and baking soda together before adding to first 5 ingredients. Combine everything with electric mixer. Pour into greased cookie sheet or two 9x12-inch greased cake pans.

Bake at 350°F for 35 to 40 minutes.

Frosting:

1 1/4 cups evaporated milk
2 cups sugar
3 egg yolks
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
2 cups coconut flakes
1 cup chopped pecans
1 tsp. vanilla

Cook evaporated milk, sugar, egg yolks and butter until thick (about 5 minutes). Add coconut, pecans and vanilla. Spread on cooled cake.
