FLOUR TORTILLAS | |
3 3/4 c. flour 1 tsp. salt 6 tbsp. shortening 1 c. warm water Mix flour and salt. Cut in shortening until size of small peas. Add water a little at a time, stirring well each time, until flour is moistened and dough almost cleans side of bowl. Knead the dough until well mixed. Divide into 12 parts and form into balls. Cover and let rest at least a half hour. Heat a flat griddle over high heat. Roll each ball into a flat circle. Cook on first side approximately 1 minute (or until bubbles form). Flip and cook on other side. |
