SWEET POTATO AND APPLE CASSEROLE 
2 (1 lb. 2 oz.) cans sweet potatoes
1 (1 lb. 4 oz.) can sliced apples
1/4 c. light brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/4 c. butter, melted
2 tsp. lemon juice

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Slice potatoes 1/4 inch thick.

In 1 1/2 quart casserole, alternately layer potatoes and apples, ending with potatoes and sprinkling each layer with some sugar, allspice, butter, and lemon juice. Bake 20 minutes or until nicely browned. Makes 8 servings.
