“DATE CANDY” IS IN:
NEXT RECIPE:  DATE LOAF

DATE CANDY 
3 cups sugar
1 cup milk
1 tbsp. light corn syrup (Karo)
1 cup dates, chopped
1 cup nuts, chopped
1 cup coconut flakes

Mix sugar, milk, syrup and dates. Cook to soft ball stage (234-240°F on candy thermometer).

Add nuts and coconut; beat until thick. Shape into log. Roll in damp towel. Chill.

Unroll and slice.

Cooks Note: Use of a candy thermometer is recommended.
