MICROWAVE FRENCH ONION SOUP
4 to 5 lg. onions, sliced
1/4 c. butter
10 3/4 oz. condensed chicken broth
10 3/4 oz. condensed beef broth
Hot water
Toasted French bread slices
2 c. shredded Swiss cheese
1/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese

Combine onions and butter in 2 quart casserole. Cover. Microwave on HIGH for 6 to 8 1/2 minutes, or until onions are tender and translucent, stirring once. Combine chicken and beef broth in 4 cup measure. Add enough hot water to equal 4 cups. Add mixture to onions. Cover. Microwave on high for 4 to 6 minutes or until hot. Ladle soup into 4 bowls. Top with bread slices. Sprinkle with cheeses. Microwave on high for 5 1/2 to 7 1/2 minutes or until cheese melts, rearranging bowls once or twice.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
