GOLDEN YELLOW CAKE 
2 1/4 c. sifted cake flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
2/3 c. milk
1/3 c. water

Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.

Cream together shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla.

Add dry ingredients alternately with milk and water, beating well after reach addition.

Pour into greased 13x9x2 inch cake pan. Bake in 350 degree oven 30 minutes or until cake springs back when touched. Cool in pan on rack. Makes 16 servings.
