GREEN BEAN CASSEROLE 
1 med. onion
2 tbsp. butter
2 cans French style green beans
Bacon drippings
1 (8 oz.) can water chestnuts, drained
1 1/2 c. grated sharp cheese
2 cans cream of mushroom soup
Ritz cracker crumbs

Chop onion. Saute in butter until tender. Cook green beans with a small amount of bacon drippings until most of the liquid has evaporated. slice water chestnuts and add to beans. Mix onions, grated cheese and mushroom soup with beans. Pour into casserole. Sprinkle Ritz cracker crumbs over top. Bake at 350 degrees until bubbly. Serves 8.
