APPLETES (JELLIED
APPLESAUCE-WALNUT CANDY)
 
Soften 5 packages of Knox gelatin in 1 cup applesauce. Let stand for 10 minutes. To above, add 1 1/2 cups applesauce and 4 cups sugar. Bring to a boil, boil 30 minutes. Remove from heat and add 1 tablespoon lemon juice and 2 cups chopped walnuts. Put into a buttered 9x13 inch pan for 24 hours in refrigerator. Cut into squares, roll in powdered sugar. Store in a non- airtight container at room temperature.
