CRANBERRY - APPLE PIE | |
Standard Pastry (8 or 9 inch two-crust pie) 2 c. all-purpose flour 1 tsp. salt 2/3 c. plus 2 tbsp. shortening 4 to 5 tbsp. cold water Mix above ingredients together and roll into two crusts. CRANBERRY-APPLE PIE Pastry for 9 inch two crust pie 1 c. sugar 1/3 c. all-purpose flour 3 c. sliced pared tart apples (Granny-Smith) 2 c. cranberries, fresh or frozen 2 tbsp. butter Heat oven to 425 degrees. Prepare pastry. Stir together sugar and flour. In pastry-lined pie pan, alternate layers of apples, cranberries and sugar mixture, beginning and ending with apple layers; dot with butter. Cover with top crust which has slits cut in it; seal and flute. Bake 40 to 50 minutes or until crust is brown. Cool. |
