SHERRIED CHICKEN WITH HERBS 
1 fryer, cut up
Salt and pepper
Paprika
1/4 c. butter
1 (3 oz.) can mushrooms
1/2 c. sherry
Pinch of savory
Pinch of thyme
Pinch of rosemary
Pinch of marjoram
Few sprinkles of parsley
1 bay leaf

Sprinkle chicken with salt, pepper and paprika. Melt butter, add chicken and brown. Drain mushrooms, add liquid and sherry to chicken. Sprinkle with herbs and parsley. Add bay leaf and cover. Simmer at least 45 minutes. Add mushrooms last 10 minutes.

Just before serving, I make a gravy out of the liquid and serve over biscuits.
