SHEILA'S BUTTERHORN ROLLS | |
1 c. milk (scalded) 1/2 c. shortening 1/2 c. sugar 1 tsp. salt 2 pkgs. yeast 3 eggs 4 1/2 c. flour Mix milk, sugar, shortening and salt and bring almost to a boil. Add yeast, eggs, flour and knead for about 15 minutes. Place in greased bowl, cover and let rise until double. Punch down, divide into 3 parts. Roll each part into a 12 inch circle. Brush with butter. Cut into 12 pie shaped pieces and roll from wide end toward center. Put on cookie sheet. Brush with butter. Cover and let rise until double in size. Bake at 425 degrees for 15 minutes. Brush with butter again while rolls are still hot. Makes 3 dozen. |
