CINNAMON CAKE 
LIQUID:

1 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 heaping tbsp. butter
3/4 c. cold water

Bring to a boil.

BATTER:

1 c. sugar
2 heaping tsp. butter
1 c. sweet milk
2 scant c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon

Add coconut, nuts, dates or raisins (I prefer nuts). Pour liquid over batter in greased shallow pan and bake in moderate oven.
