FRUIT PUDDING (CRAZY CRUST) 
1 1/4 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. milk
2 tbsp. melted shortening
1 3/4 c. fruit
1/2 c. sugar

SAUCE MIXTURE:

2 c. hot fruit juice and/or water
1/2 to 3/4 c. sugar
2 tbsp. butter

Sift flour once, measure. Add baking powder, salt, 1/2 cup sugar and sift together into a bowl. Add milk and melted shortening; stir only until smooth. Spread dough evenly in greased shallow pan, about 12 x 8 x 2 inches. Arrange fruit over top. Combine sauce ingredients and bring to boil. Pour over fruit. Bake immediately in moderate oven (375 degrees) for 45 to 50 minutes. Serve warm. Makes 8 servings.
