CRANBERRY CAKE WITH HOT BUTTER
SAUCE
 
Mix as for cake, and bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 45 minutes, testing for doneness. 2 tablespoons butter, 1 cup sugar, 1 cup milk, 1 teaspoon vanilla, 2 cups flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 3 teaspoons baking powder, 2 cups whole cranberries (frozen may be used).

SAUCE:

Melt 1/2 cup butter; add 1 cup sugar, 1/2 cup light cream and simmer 3 or 4 minutes.
