BARBEQUED SPARE RIBS 
MEAT:

1 lb. ribs per person
4 cloves
1 tsp. salt
1 lg. onion
1 bay leaf

SAUCE:

1/4 c. brown sugar
3 tbsp. BBQ Sauce
1/4 c. finely chopped onion
1/4 c. butter
1 c. catsup
1/4 c. vinegar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. Worcestershire

Combine meat ingredients in large kettle. Cover with water. Cover, bring to boil. Reduce heat; simmer until ribs are tender and almost done (1 - 1 1/2 hours). Remove from water. Cover with sauce; let stand 2 hours. Drain ribs, grill over coals, turning and basting frequently with sauce.

Cook for 12-20 minutes or until brown. If baked in oven, do it for 45 minutes to 1 hour at 375 degrees.

For sauce: Combine all ingredients. Bring to boil. Reduce heat; simmer 15 minutes, stirring frequently. Makes enough for 4 lbs. of ribs.
