CHOCOLATE BROWN SUGAR BROWNIES 
1 1/3 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. light brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. soft butter
1 egg
1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease 13 x 9 inch pan. Sift flour with baking powder and salt. Set aside.

In large bowl, with wooden spoon, or electric mixer at medium speed, beat butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla until smooth. Stir in flour mixture.

Stir in 1 (6 ounce) package semi-sweet chocolate pieces along with nuts.

Bake 30 minutes. Cool slightly. Cut into bars while still warm. Makes 24.
