FESTIVE CARAMEL BARS 
32 individually wrapped caramel squares
2/3 c. (5 1/3 oz. can) evaporated milk
1 c. flour
1 c. quick oats, uncooked
1 c. chopped nuts
1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter, melted
1 1/2 c. M & M plain chocolate candies

Combine caramels and milk in heavy saucepan; cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until caramels are melted and mixture is well blended. Combine flour, oats, nuts, sugar, soda, and salt; add butter, mixing until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Reserve 1 cup. Press remaining mixture onto bottom of greased 13 x 9 inch baking pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes. Sprinkle 1 cup candies over partially baked crust. Drizzle melted caramel mixture over candies. Sprinkle over reserved crumbs mixture and remaining candies. Continue baking 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool slightly; chill 30 minutes. Cut into bars.
