PEANUT BRITTLE
2 c. sugar
1 c. Karo light syrup
1/4 c. water
1 tsp. salt
2 1/2 c. raw shelled peanuts
2 tsp. baking soda

Combine sugar, syrup and water in medium pot; approximately 4 quarts; bring to a boil, stirring constantly until you can spin a thin thread approximately 3 inches long. Add peanuts and cook until brown, stirring constantly until peanuts are a light brown. Remove from heat, stir in salt and baking soda, mixing well. Pour onto well greased flat baking sheet. Let cool completely and break into pieces.

Note: Be very careful handling mixture once you have brought it to a boil; it can cause a nasty burn.
