DONUTS OR FRY CAKES | |
1 cake yeast or 2 dry melted in a little water 2 c potato, cooked and mashed 2 c. milk, heated and cooled 1 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. nutmeg 1 c. sugar (extra full) 2 beaten eggs 3/4 c. shortening or soft butter Put in 4 cups flour. Let rise double in bulk and add 4 1/2 cups flour, let rise until double in bulk. Roll out 1 inch thick and cut. Fry in 3 inches of Crisco. |
