LOWELL INN ROLLS
2 pkg. yeast
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
3/4 tsp. salt
2 eggs
4 c. flour
3/4 c. milk, scalded and cooled

Mix milk and shortening and scald together. Add sugar, salt, and let cool. Soften yeast in 1/4 cup lukewarm water. Beat eggs and add yeast to eggs, then stir into cooled milk mixture. Make a well in flour and add liquid gradually and stir until smooth. (This may seem sticky but is OK).

Place in buttered bowl and let rise until it is twice its size. Knead with a little flour. Use about 1/3 of the dough at a time, roll to 1/16 inch thickness. Cut making about 12-14 inch circle. Cut the circle into quarters and each quarter into quarters. (You will have 16 individual pie shaped pieces.) Brush with melted butter, roll form outer edge to center.

Bake at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes or until golden brown.
