CANDIED PECANS 
2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. water
3 1/2 c. pecan halves
1 tsp. vanilla

Cook first 5 ingredients over medium heat until syrup reaches soft ball stage. Remove from heat and add pecans and vanilla. Stir until pecans are well coated. Pour on waxed paper and separate pecans before sugar hardens.
