CRANBERRY - APPLE CRUNCH 
1 c. sugar
1 c. water
2 c. cranberries
2 c. chopped tart apples

TOPPER:

1 c. quick oatmeal
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. butter
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Mix sugar and water and boil 5 minutes. Add cranberries; cook until skins pop, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Add apples; pour into buttered 10 x 6 x 1 1/2 inch baking dish. Sprinkle with Topper.

TOPPER: Mix 1 cup quick oatmeal, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/3 cup flour and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Cut in butter until crumbly. Add nuts. Bake at 350 degrees for about 35 minutes. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
