TAMALE PIE 
2 onions, chopped fine
1 1/2 lbs. hamburger
2 tbsp. chili powder
Salt and pepper to taste
1 sm. can tomato sauce
1 c. water
1 sm. can olives

CORNMEAL LINING:

4 c. boiling salt water
2 c. cornmeal
1 c. cold water

Filling: Fry onions to golden brown. Add hamburger; cook until meat is done. Add chili powder, salt, pepper, tomato sauce, water, and olives. Simmer for about 3 minutes.

Cornmeal Lining: Mix cornmeal and cup of cold water. Stir cornmeal mixture slowly into boiling water; boil until thick. Grease sides and bottom of an 8 x 10 inch casserole. Then line casserole with cornmeal mixture. Pour filling into casserole. Put layer of cornmeal on top. Bake in 450 degree oven for 30 minutes. Sprinkle cheese over the top. Bake for 5 more minutes.
