HARVEST LOAF CAKE 
1 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
3/4 c. pumpkin
3/4 c. chocolate chips
3/4 c. chopped nuts

Grease a 9 x 5 inch pan. Combine flour, soda, salt, spices. In large bowl, cream butter. Gradually add sugar, cream well. Blend in eggs and beat thoroughly. At low speed, add dry ingredients alternately with pumpkin. Stir in chocolate chips and 1/2 cup nuts. Pour batter into pan. Sprinkle with 1/4 cup nuts.

Bake at 350 degrees for 65 to 75 minutes. Cool 15 minutes. Remove from pan to rack and if desired, frost with:

SPICE GLAZE:

1/2 c. powdered sugar
1/8 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. nutmeg

Blend in 1 to 2 tablespoons milk until consistency of glaze.
