INDIAN FRY BREAD
1 c. milk
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. warm water
1 tbsp. dry yeast
1 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
4 to 5 tbsp. sugar
2 to 3 eggs
1 c. water
7 to 8 cups flour

In a sauce pan, scald milk and butter; set aside. In a large bowl dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm water with 1 teaspoon sugar and salt. Add 4 to 5 tablespoons sugar, beaten eggs, 1 cup water and milk mixture. Mix well, then beat in 2 cups flour. With a wooden spoon blend in enough flour to make a soft dough. Cover, let rest until double. Punch down, knead 5 minutes and shape into 5 inch round circle 1/2 inch thick. Fry in 3 to 4 inches hot oil at 375 degrees for 2 to 3 minutes. Cool and drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with toppings (powdered sugar, cinnamon sugar or honey) or use as a taco shell.
