MOM'S LASAGNA | |
1 lb. ground beef 1 (20 oz.) can tomatoes 1 oz. can seasoned tomato sauce 1-2 env. spaghetti sauce mix 2 cloves garlic, minced Salt to taste 1 (8 oz.) pkg. lasagna noodles 6-8 oz. mozzarella cheese 1 c. cream style cottage cheese 1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese Brown the meat slowly, spooning off excess fat. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, spaghetti sauce and garlic. Cover and simmer for 40 minutes, stirring occasionally. Salt to taste. Cook and drain noodles according to box directions. Place half of noodles in an 11 1/2 x 7 1/2 x 1 1/2 inch baking dish. Cover with 1/3 of sauce, top with 1/2 of mozzarella and cottage cheese. Repeat layers ending with sauce. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes. Let stand for 15 minutes before serving. Note: Casserole may be prepared ahead, frozen, then baked just before serving. |
