CAROL'S LAYERED SQUASH CASSEROLE 
A thick layer of sliced, yellow squash
A layer of sliced, fresh tomatoes
Salt, pepper & butter
A layer of sliced onion
A layer of shredded cheese
A layer of dry bread crumbs or crackers
butter

Butter a deep casserole dish. Layers may be repeated; if so, leave bread crumbs until last. Dot with butter. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Serves 6.
