12 oz. corn meal
1 lg. onion, chopped
1 tsp. salt
1 egg
1 tsp. baking powder
4 oz. plain flour
1 tbsp. sugar
Milk

Sift dry ingredients together. Stir in the egg, minced onion and enough milk to make a heavy rather dry batter. Heat a quantity of grease in deep fryer or frying pan (preferably grease you have already fried the fish in). Drop spoonfuls of batter into hot grease. Brown well and serve hot.
