6 c. sifted flour 1 tbsp. salt 3/4 c. shortening 2 eggs 1 1/2 c. water A more tender crust. Makes 15 to 20. Mix flour with salt in large bowl, cut in shortening with a pastry blender until the particles formed are the size of fine crumbs. Beat eggs with water and stir into flour mixture until dough is formed (dough will be crumbly). Turn into a lightly floured board and knead until smooth, about 5 minutes. Roll into 6 inch circles, fill with fruit. Fry in hot oil. |
