ANGEL CRISP COOKIES 
1/2 c. white sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 c. shortening (1/2 butter)
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda

Cream sugars, shortening, egg and vanilla. Add sifted ingredients. Form into balls. Dip 1/2 in water then in granulated sugar. Press down center with finger. Bake at 400 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.
